BY OBTAINING, USING AND/OR COPYING THIS DOCUMENT, YOU (THE LICENSEE) AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND WILL COMPLY WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. THIS LICENSE GRANTS YOU, THE POSSESSOR OF THIS PUBLICATION, PERMISSION TO USE, COPY, AND DISTRIBUTE THE CONTENTS OF THIS COMPLETE DOCUMENT, IN ANY MEDIUM FOR ANY PURPOSE AND WITHOUT FEE OR ROYALTY, PROVIDED THAT YOU ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING THREE TERMS: (1) YOU MUST RETAIN THE COPYRIGHT ATTRIBUTION, (2) YOU MUST REDISTRIBUTE A PRINTED PUBLICATION ONE MONTH SUBSEQUENT TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF THIS LICENSE; OR (3) IF YOU DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE YOUR PRINTED COPY YOU MUST SEND THE AUTHOR A NICE LETTER/EMAIL, A ZINE, OR IF YOU ARE REALLY LAZY, AN AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT YOU THINK FAIR.

Steal this zine! This zine was produced and distributed at the author's cost. The notice below makes it illegal to sell this zine for commercial profit; the placement of this zine in a place of commerce was surreptitious and the merchant incurred no cost in obtaining it, they may not even know it is on their shelves! (This many not apply to instances of mail order, but you can't steal from them anyway!)

You do not have an unlimited license to keep this zine. If you don't much like it you are obligated to place it where someone else, who may like it, will find it. If you do want to keep it, you have to contact me. Why did I put this zine out like that? Traditional economics argues that setting prices, and even price discrimination, allows resources to be allocated to those who find them most valuable. For instance, the marginal value of a used car to a millionaire is negligible, but it means a lot to those less fortunate. However, this type of system does not work well for ideas, which can only be evaluated after you've grokked them and should be widely distributed regardless. Additionally, it's fun to leverage commercial distribution mechanisms for other purposes.

So, if you are going to take this copy of my ideas out of circulation, you have to compensate me, otherwise spread it around. The result is that more people have have access to the resource, and those that wish to posses it without making their own copy, can fairly compensate the author. There's space in the back of this zine if you want to write your name or some such thing in there before passing it around. See the meme zine run, run meme run. And, if you like this zine and the copytheft principle, you can always make a copy for yourself, or access the on-line version. The idea of copytheft is based on Abbie Hoffman's Steal This Book and the Free Software Foundation's GNU Copyleft license.
